Maurice Kugler is Visiting Professor of Public Policy. He conducts research on international trade, foreign direct investment and skilled migration. Kugler explores how global market integration impacts on the prospects of economic growth and convergence for the poor in nations and regions. Since 2006, he has been Research Fellow at the Growth Lab of the Center for International Development. He holds a Center for International Governance Innovation Chair in International Public Policy of Wilfrid Laurier University, and has previously taught at Los Andes, Southampton, and Stanford Universities. Kugler has been awarded research grants by the NSF and the Tinker Foundation in the US as well as DfID and the ESRC in the UK. He is currently adviser on external capital flows to the Central Bank of Colombia, as well as consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank. After completion of B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in economics at the London School of Economics, Kugler earned a Ph.D. in economics at UC Berkeley.
